Almost always one of three things. Open Profile in the app and check them in order:
If all three look right, tap Re-arm lock now. Still stuck? Email us from Profile → Contact support so we can see the settings without a game of twenty questions.
Update to the latest version. Early builds could run out of pre-loaded passages after a day of reading only at the lock screen; the app now keeps about a week queued and refills itself in the background.
That's the In the app, then at the door mode working as designed: it holds the first unlock of each day until you've begun your reading, then lets passages meet you at the lock for the rest of the day. If you'd rather be sent to the app every single time, choose In the app, every time under Profile → Lock intensity.
Nothing breaks. One missed day a week is forgiven and your streak survives it. The reading is spread back across the days that remain, so today's portion may rise by a verse or two — you'll see "+N catching up" when it does. If you fall far enough behind that your finish date stops being honest, the app offers to move the date rather than pretend.
All three, any time, in Profile — and your place is kept. Changing translation lands you on the same chapter you were already reading.
Five, all offline and all included at no extra cost: the Berean Standard Bible, King James Version, and World English Bible (66 books), plus the Douay-Rheims and Catholic Public Domain Version (all 73, with the deuterocanon). Catholic editions use Vulgate psalm numbering, and the app's chapter summaries follow it correctly.
Please tell us — include the book, chapter, verse, and translation. Scripture text comes from public-domain editions, and the one-line chapter summaries are written by hand, so mistakes are ours to fix.
Reading the Bible in the app is free forever. The lock is the subscription, with a 7-day free trial on the annual plans. Exact prices are shown in your own currency on the paywall and in the App Store listing.
Profile → Manage subscription, or the Subscriptions screen in Apple's Settings app. Cancelling never traps your apps: when a subscription ends, every shield stands down automatically. You keep access until the period you've paid for runs out.
All purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong on our side, email us anyway and we'll help you make the case.
Tap Profile → Restore purchases first; that resolves nearly every case, including reinstalls and new devices. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID that made the purchase. If it still won't unlock, email us.
Your reading, highlights, streaks, and locked-app choices live on your device. There's no account and no server to send them to, and Apple's Screen Time framework gives the app opaque tokens — it cannot see which apps you picked, and neither can we. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
To erase your progress, use Profile → Reset reading progress. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
Email biblemaxxing@proton.me. Tell us your iPhone model, iOS version, and what you expected to happen — or just send from Profile → Contact support in the app, which includes all of that for you.
